The Warehouse Operations Supervisor coordinates, directs, and manages all activities for the warehouse operations and is expected to have proficiency in all areas of warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for on time parts picking, put-away, shipping, preservation, and packaging of all parts in the warehouse.
- Maintain & implement Warehouse KPI’s.
- Maintains and assures the proper use of the company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for the transaction of receipt, shipping, and re-distribution requirements.
- Manages and implements a cycle count program to sustain at inventory accuracy level of more than 95% using A, B, C analysis.
- Manages proper documentation and approvals for all inventory adjustments.
- Ability to setup and execute physical inventories at each warehouse location in compliance with the company policy.
- Implement a 6S program (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
- Analyzes warehouse workload to estimate hours worked and manage overtime.
- Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Manage the procurement, maintenance, and budget of all warehouse equipment at each site.
- Manage the procurement of all packing material, material to build wooden crates and comply with the ISPM-15 certification for the wooden crate building system. Comply with the monthly audits.
- Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve warehouse and employee efficiency, equipment performance, and quality of services.
- Ability to analyze existing business processes and look for areas for continuous improvement.
- Oversees proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Assures the accuracy and quality of information on all warehouse operations documents.
- Works with the Warehouse team to balance the workflow on a daily basis.
- Assures the proficiency and proper training of all warehouse operations employees.
- Strives to keep costs within budget. Monitors revenues and/or expenses to ensure sound fiscal responsibilities.
- Communicates effectively with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve employee efficiency, equipment performance, and quality of services.
- Knowledge of INCOTERMS / ability to generate shipping documentation (Colli List / BOL).
- Supervisory Duties:
- Directly manages the Warehouse Leads and Warehouse Associates.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Warehouse Operations team.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Competencies
- Education and Experience: Associate’s degree with 4 years of related experience or Bachelor’s with 2 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience equivalent to 6 years or more.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Knowledge of software and systems related to warehouse operations activities; timekeeping systems; project management software; spreadsheet software; and word processing software.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities while fulfilling all commitments.
- Ability to acquire and maintain forklift certification.
- Ability to train employees.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport.
