What You Get To Do
Develop tax strategies to assist KNAPP in being tax-compliant
Research tax laws. Gather information and explain options for best practice to KNAPP. Stay up to date on tax rules and regulations that could impact KNAPP.
Identify tax problems and develop solutions
Accurately prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax compliance in a timely manner, liaising with paid preparers when necessary/appropriate.
Accurately prepare/file federal and state income tax in a timely manner, liaising with paid preparers when necessary/appropriate. This includes sub-forms such as 5472.
Liaise with third party accounting firms when necessary/appropriate
Pull reports from internal accounting software, liaise with other departments to obtain data when necessary.
Ensure that tax returns are filed in accordance with tax authorities
Lead IRS and state audits and act as a liaison between government auditors, tax consultants, and AP/AR Managers
Work with different state agencies to set up and maintain accounts
Respond to various tax notices from states
Work on various tax projects that arise (this is mainly to encompass projects we need to start now and could come up in the future)
Lead team of 1 or more employees, including reviewing their work, defining job descriptions, and contributing to their career development
Produce work product that is reliable in accordance with professional ethics in accounting, including honesty, reliability and integrity.
What You Have
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
6-10 years proven experience as a tax specialist, tax manager,or similar
Strong knowledge of accounting laws and procedures
Computer literacy in accounting software, SAP experience preferred.
Strong Excel skills
Good numerical skills

Outstanding analytical skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Working Conditions and Environment:
Professional office etiquette is required at all times.
Ability to promptly obtain and maintain a valid passport in case of necessary international travel
Physical requirement: Sitting, stooping, bending, visual acuity, finger dexterity, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds
