The Senior Financial Analyst for HealthWell Foundation will play a critical role in supporting the foundation’s financial health through the analysis of financial data, preparation of reports, budget management, and providing insights to ensure resources are allocated effectively. This individual will work closely with the CFO to provide strategic financial advice, oversight, and drive financial planning and forecasting for the organization's long-term sustainability.

Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Develop, analyze, and interpret financial reports, statements, and dashboards to track performance against budget and historical trends.
  • Analyze income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other key financial data to assist CFO to provide insights into the financial health of the organization.
  • Provide variance analysis, highlighting discrepancies between actual and budgeted results.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure all financial reporting is accurate and transparent.
  • Create Invoicing for Donors to receive donations.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and tax requirements for nonprofit organizations

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist CFO with foundation’s annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to ensure all programmatic, operational, and administrative costs are accurately captured and completion of accurate budgets that meet required deadlines.
  • Track spending patterns, program effectiveness, and adherence to funding constraints to ensure efficient use of financial resources.
  • Responsible for maintenance of trend analysis of key figures and metrics
  • Support the CFO in preparing and analyzing financial projections, ensuring they align with the foundation’s mission, programs, and goals.

Grants and Funding

  • Oversee financial compliance related to grants and restricted funding sources, ensuring proper allocation and reporting of funds.
  • Work with development and program teams to manage the financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, reporting, and tracking expenditures.

Data Management & Process Improvement

  • Continuously improve financial reporting systems and processes to enhance data accuracy, reporting timeliness, and decision-making.
  • Documentation and process improvement initiatives
  • Work to streamline financial workflows and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage and maintain financial systems, ensuring they align with organizational needs.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

Key Technical Skills and Knowledge (if applicable)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial management software.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant financial analysis experience.
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with accounting practices (e.g., fund accounting).
  • Experience with financial software (e.g., Multiview, Concur , NetSuite, Tableau or similar).
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered; Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite products; Deals with confidential information and or issues using discretion and judgment.
