Job Title: Material Handler
Job Summary
Responsible for materials movement into production area, custodial duties on production floor, keeping stock in an organized manner within the staging area.
Essential Functions
- Maintain stock within the production supermarket in a neat and orderly manner.
- Maintain identification tags on all stock shelves and update as needed.
- Maintain required inventory levels for all cut sheet stock and enter request for additional stock from warehouse.
- Perform daily cycle counts on inventory items within the staging area to insure proper inventory levels are recorded.
- Move stock to quarantine area when instructed by Inventory manager.
- Return all unused stock in blue “Return to WHSE” cage.
- Work closely with inventory manager concerning any stock issues or any issues within the staging area.
- Stage correct amount of components based on batch sheet with each job.
- Deliver requested stock in a timely manner to required location based on yellow light.
- Remove completed mail from each work cell and shrink wrap skid for shipment as needed.
- Gather all paper and cardboard for recycling every few hours and create bale as needed.
- Empty all waste containers throughout entire production area as needed.
- Maintain clean and safe conditions in production department through periodic sweeping of all areas.
- Follows appropriate safety guidelines and reports issues/concerns to team lead or manager.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested.
Preferred Requirement
- Forklift Operator Certification.
- One to two years in a mail production environment.
- Specific, specialized, former manufacturer provided equipment training.
Minimum Requirements
Specific Job Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior positions using general math skills.
- Proven commitment to providing excellent customer service within all dimensions of the job duties on a consistent basis.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing setting.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
