The Production trainer has the responsibility to handle the training certification, cross-training certification and annual re-certification of the following positions on their shift: insert operator, print operator, hand work associate and glue operator. The trainer will work following the outlined training program and standard operating procedures outline by production management and quality departments. This trainer will also assist in keeping all training documentation including SOPs current. This position will require the individual to communicate all material effectively to new hires and current staff. The trainer will work under the supervision of Training Coordinator.
Essential Functions
Teach operators how to operate mail production machinery and how to hit daily output goals and maintain a 60% operator efficiency when running machines
Teach operators how to clear machines jams and make minor machine adjustments as needed Teach operators to troubleshoot and identify malfunction in machine performance
Teach operators to possess a working knowledge of methods and techniques of machinery setup
Teach operators to monitor equipment to assure maximum uptime
Teach operators how to perform quality checks on all output at work station
Teach operators how to maintain operator work logs
Teach operators how to maintain stock at work station
Teach operators how to select the correct options within Direct View to capture accurate data
Teach operators how to keep work area neat, clean and organized and how to prep station for next shift
Perform weekly written and hands on evaluations of trainee and review progress with Supervisor of Trainee
Maintain a PPLH spreadsheet during training of training, including service time
Work with Shift Supervisors utilizing each Shift matrix to outline training schedule to help ensure all new hires are properly trained and certified upon hire, current staff are annually re-trained and eligible staff are cross-trained to address staffing weak points across the floor
Work cooperatively with other operators, quality personnel and shift management team to achieve maximum production capabilities
Create, update and maintain relevant SOP’s as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Specific Job Skills:
Knowledge and aptitude for operating mail equipment
Specific, specialized, former manufacturer provided equipment training
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Have prior demonstrated excellent attendance
Prior positions using general math skills
Education: High School Diploma
Experience
One to two years working in a mail production environment
One-two years in a supervisory or training role
Experience With Bluecrest Insert Machine Preferred
Experience with Canon or Rico printers preferred
Excel/Microsoft Office experience

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
