Job Summary:

This role is responsible for ensuring portfolio growth with Biotech customers and their product portfolios across the Pharma Services Group (PSG) and Clinical Research Group (CRG) through governance, planning and innovative initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive service industry expertise across the Pharma/Biotech/CDMO sectors and prior program management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the customer relationship and governance for the services and support across Thermo Fisher Scientific governance models.
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to coordinate, influence, and lead efforts to ensure seamless execution of services.
  • Provide program and project management leadership and support for key functional activities including functional sub-team and working group meetings.
  • Bring together the customer and internal functional leads, when needed to support customer needs and decision making; oversees multiple project teams and project managers across the network to deliver on customer portfolio.
  • Facilitate the identification, management and communication of key program risks and their associated mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Leverage strong project and interpersonal knowledge, leadership, and facilitation skills to optimize team meetings and facilitate effective teamwork.
  • Build and leverage relationships and networks to improve and enhance team dynamics; proactively finding opportunities and removing obstacles to get results.
  • Support budget processes and financial targets in the partnerships assigned.
  • Models advanced program and portfolio management methodologies.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years’ multi-disciplinary experience in the pharmaceuticals, biotech, CDMO or Clinical research industry.
  • Strategic problem solver with proven track record supporting a business through rapid growth and/or change
  • Ability to establish relationships with high-level business contacts and influence scientific/biotech leaders
  • Ability to lead and fully integrate across the matrix business structure and follow-up to expand relationships and business opportunities
  • Strong commercial competence with experience with all phases of drug development and technology transfer
  • Master in program and project management
  • Expertise in customer relationship management
  • Ability to manage multiple complex programs spanning across divisions and functions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence up and across the network to deliver on customer needs
  • Solution oriented to overcome challenges and move the team forward
  • Expertise across drug development, manufacturing, CMC; able to consult assigned customers on their portfolio of needs and across molecule lifecycle
