Who are we looking for?
A strategic thinker, not a task manager! The Manager, File Maintenance leads a team of File Maintenance System Specialists who perform configuration updates and maintenance within XIFIN’s billing system for each Outsourced Billing (OSB) customer. The Manager will work with the team to load a multitude of data to customer environments including build new clients and tests. You will build and encourage the team to provide fast and effective technical billing solutions to customer requests.
As the Manager, File Maintenance, you will have direct responsibility for configuration updates and maintenance within XIFIN’s billing system for assigned accounts. You will perform updates as needed and can delegate those updates through direct and dotted-line reporting. Additionally, this position will suggest automation solutions and process improvements to promote efficiency. Manager will also implement new solutions and ensure proper training for the team.
To be successful in this role, you must be analytical and solution oriented. An effective team leader, able to multi-task and problem solve effectively and efficiently. While supported by leadership and your team, you should be self-motivated, a self-starter, and possess a “can do" attitude.
You may be hired as a Manager or Sr. Manager based on your depth of skill and breadth of experience.
What will you do?
- Manage and lead a team of Specialists charged with providing fast and effective solutions to customer requests and meet department goals and objectives
- Responsible for the professional development of the team including training, coaching, feedback, and performance reviews
- Manage team in daily activities, assign work, set completion dates, review work and manage performance in accordance with organization policies, procedures, and performance management processes
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of configuration changes/updates across all customer environments maintained by the team
- Oversee creation of new clients and tests and facilitation of new payor process and payor changes
- Oversee creation and update of fee schedules, incremental pricing, and consolidation rules based on customer request and industry expertise
- Oversee maintenance of industry data, such as fee schedules and payor policies, in the billing system
- Support new outsourced customer implementations, providing subject matter expertise on technical billing issues to inform customer decision-making during implementation process and ensuring a smooth go-live
- Act as primary liaison between billing department and technical teams for complex issues related to billing system configuration and settings
- Manage team documentation in Confluence and encourage team participation in note sharing
- Communicate billing issues related to system configuration/settings easily and effectively at all levels of the organization
- Instruct others on business systems processes related to laboratory billing
This is an onsite position at our offices in Charleston, SC or San Diego, CA.
What education and experience do you need?
A combination of the following education and experience factors will be considered:
- Demonstrated leadership with proven results required
- System configuration experience preferred
- 5+ years of experience in medical billing
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field, or comparable work experience preferred
- Analytic thought process for investigating issues, identifying root causes, and resolving them
Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.

What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location.
The expected range for this role is $80,000-$90,000 annual base compensation. Please note this range is an estimate; actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
