About This Position
The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Test Technician executes product testing per engineering test plans. The technician is responsible for an accurate test set-up, data collection, and data reporting.
Must report to office on-site 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- The technician will be testing products from multiple product lines before they go to market. Hands on experience performing EMC/EMI emission and immunity testing of electrical systems and its components in a Test Laboratory Environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Electromagnetic Compatibility validation test execution.
- Ensuring accurate test reporting.
- Communication to Test Engineering for approval/notification.
- Direct interaction with product engineers to ensure compliance.
- Maintaining open line of communication with validation engineering to ensure performance of the product.
- Maintaining a clean/safe work environment/area.
- Comfortable working in an environment with a high level of information sharing required to ensure accurate and timely completion between different people working on the same projects.
- Utilize prior knowledgebase and sound logic to come to easily defendable conclusions/solutions and independently drive the project to completion.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a HS diploma or GED
- 2+years experience
- Experience in documentation of product assembly Work Instructions
- Proven experience in overseeing the design and development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products
- Experience performing EMC/EMI emission and immunity testing of electrical systems and its components in an EMC Test or Electrical Test Laboratory Environment
- Candidates should demonstrate strong professional and technical competence.
- They should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be responsible and capable of self-direction, have strong leadership skills driving self and organization to improve performance, be a team player, and display a high level of maturity.
Preferred Requirements:
- Associate’s degree a plus
- Good project management skills
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Conducted Emissions and Immunity testing experience
- Working knowledge on instruments required for EMC testing such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, antennas, coupling clamps, field probes, ESD simulators, etc.
- Experience with EMC test automation software.
- Understanding of ISO-17025 laboratory accreditation process
- Basic understanding of Electromagnetic theory applied to EMC testing
- Hands-on experience in debugging radiated and conducted emissions and immunity issues

Salary: USD 53600.00 - USD 80400.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
