As the Patient Intake Manager you will lead multiple cross functional teams that provide direct interaction with patients and customers including (Inbound Document Routing Specialist, Patient Services Documentation Specialist, and the Intake Specialist teams). These functions support order entry, verification of Third-Party Payer order requirements, initial and continued interactions with patients regarding orders for new therapy, accurate assessment and communication of estimated Insurance coverage and cost, and the initiation of the placement of a Respiratory Health product, leading to the timely completion of the intake process.
You and the team's roles are critical to Respiratory Health’s overall compliance with Government and Commercial payers by ensuring the appropriate requirements are satisfied prior to dispensing a product to a new patient and prior to submitting for reimbursement, all while maintaining standards for all regulatory requirements.
You must be located within a reasonable commute of the St. Paul, MN Office - Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. What you will do:
- Lead the teams including the recruitment and selection, performance management, training, development and coaching of team members.
- Identification, development, and execution of short-term and long-term strategies to further enhance efficiencies for team members and positive outcomes for patients and customers.
- In collaboration with Patient & Customer Support leadership, identify, develop, implement and maintain department specific goals, service level agreements and important metrics to meet the needs of the patients, customers and business strategies.
- Establish and implement call center and quality call monitoring program for the team with established service level metrics to enhance and maintain high customer service standards, providing training and feedback to staff on interactions to include progressive customer service techniques.
- Ensure compliance with payer rules and requirements by documenting and maintaining job instructions specific to the roles and responsibilities of the teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Sales, etc.) to continually evaluate and improve processes and procedures to meet internal and external customer needs.
What you will bring:
- Minimum of the completion of BA/BS degree or currently enrolled in a BA/BS program in a health care related field, required.
- 5+ years of management experience preferred with significant experience of leading large teams.
- Minimum 3+ years of DME industry experience, preferred.
- A demonstrated high level of supervisory skills and a consistent track record to work effectively with employees at all levels in the organization.
- Broad knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, third party payers is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the healthcare environment, medical terminology and Respiratory health.
- Exceptional communication skills, verbal, written, and presentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Effective planning and program management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
- Experience with Third Party billing systems preferred.
- Experience and understanding in utilization of CRM programs to document customer interactions and accounts compliantly preferred.
- Continuous Improvement/ Project Management experience preferred.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $96,000 - 120,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses.
