SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for the receipt, inspection, movement, storage, loading and shipping of components, assemblies and products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Perform all warehouse duties including shipping of product, receiving of materials, stocking, pulling products for shipment, returns, and parts fulfillment.
- Verify all
incoming and outgoing receipts & shipments.
- Responsible for basic
cosmetic and mechanical quality inspection and reporting.
- Establish and
maintain good rapport with internal and external customers through effective
communication and providing prompt support.
- Regularly move
boxes and/or pallets for proper staging and/or storage by use of pallet jack,
forklift and/or two-wheel dolly.
- Prepare
documentation, maintain records, and coordinate logistics for product shipment.
- Verify and ensure
correct items, quantities and on-time shipments.
- Calculate freight
quotes, prepare bills of lading, shipping labels, and coordinate pick-ups with
freight carriers, complying with company and customer routing guidelines.
- Perform regular preventative
maintenance requirements as dictated by equipment manufacturers and/or
management.
- Actively
participate in a continuous improvement process as well as provide hands-on job
function training to co-workers as needed.
- Perform data
collection and input for warehouse metrics including safety, quality and
delivery.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED or equivalent; 3+ years’ experience
in warehouse and/or shipping functions preferred; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma or other process
improvement techniques preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,
REGISTRATIONS
Forklift Certification (Requirement
within 30 days of hire; company provided training)
Hazmat Certification (Requirement
within 30 days of hire; company provided training)
Valid Driver’s License and
ability to operate large vans and trucks (No CDL required)
COMPUTER SKILLS
Computer proficiency
is required. Pacejet and/or Syteline knowledge/user experience is preferred. To
perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MRP
systems and shipping software.
