The Opportunity

This position works out of our Austin, TX location in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division, where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology. in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division.

What You’ll Work On

Develops, maintains, and controls the master production schedule in alignment with the corporation's strategic business plan. Engages in special build and inventory analysis, including design verification transfers and sample builds. Serves as an interface between Third-Party Manufacturing, Global Supply/Demand, and Global Logistics. Owns daily, weekly, and monthly metrics reporting, with encouragement to experiment with new ways to report metrics using raw data from TPM. Acts as the primary owner of raw material planning for select processes and is a major contributor to the operation's planning process.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and controls a realistic master production schedule by balancing marketing requirements with manufacturing capacity and parts availability.
  • Communicates forecast and production schedule changes to TPM and Global Logistics.
  • Analyzes the potential impact of forecast and production schedule changes on component procurement and production volume.
  • Ensures consistency between product sales information and product build schedules.
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing and Program Management to appropriately manage inventory levels and minimize obsolescence.
  • Performs "What if" analyses to aid in optimal scheduling, priorities, and decision-making.
  • Monitors and analyzes supplier performance indicators to proactively identify potential supply problems.
  • Communicates all product availability risks to affected departments.
  • Liaises with relevant departments to ensure product availability for customers.
  • Supports product investigations and traceability exercises when necessary.
  • Applies working knowledge of business concepts, procedures, and practices.
  • Supports Design Verification Builds and other product development activities.
  • Performs tasks in a quality system environment.
  • Owns the sample build process for the site, ensuring proper samples are taken and distributed to end-users efficiently.
  • Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Builds positive and influential relationships with the TPM team.
  • Acts as the liaison between ADC and TPM regarding all matters related to raw material supply for specific processes.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly metrics reporting, encouraged to experiment with new ways of formulating data to provide the most efficient reports.
  • Has a general knowledge of technical alternatives and understands their impact on the systems environment.
  • Cultivates a wide range of internal networks and begins to develop an external network of resources to facilitate task completion.
  • May demonstrate basic project management skills by acting as a project lead on small, well-defined projects.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced staff, exerting influence at the peer level.
  • Plans, organizes, and prioritizes daily work routine to meet established schedules. Exercises authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays and result in the allocation of additional resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ERP/MRP System Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, data analysis, and pivot tables.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities and a proven track record of identifying and solving complex problems.

The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
