Paladin Data Corporation is seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to manage and maintain our Linux infrastructure. This role involves configuring, securing, and optimizing Linux servers, as well as supporting web services and collaborating with developers to enhance system functionality. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to system administration.

DO YOU HAVE…

  • 3+ years of experience supporting multiple Linux servers in a production environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux distributions (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, etc.).

  • Experience managing NGINX, Apache, IIS, or other web servers.

  • Proficiency in Bash scripting; experience with Python, Perl, or other scripting languages is a plus.

  • Familiarity with server security best practices, including firewalls, SSH hardening, and access controls.

  • Knowledge with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).

  • Understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, VPNs, and load balancing.

  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Experience with Windows Server administration and supporting hybrid infrastructures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, LPIC-1, or equivalent) are highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

  • Experience with Docker, or virtualization technologies.


THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Engage with and guide clients in a prompt, positive and compassionate manner

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers in a production environment.

  • Manage Linux system security, including patching, user access control, intrusion detection, and failover.

  • Oversee web server operations, ensuring uptime, performance, and resource utilization.

  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery processes for web content, databases, and servers.

  • Work with Linux tools, including but not limited to VI editor and NGINX.

  • Collaborate with developers to support new features, update website functionality, and address technical challenges.

  • Diagnose and resolve website issues related to server errors, compatibility problems, and user access.

  • Analyze website traffic data to identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations for loading speeds.

  • Provide additional support for networking infrastructure and Windows Server environments as needed.

  • Occasional travel to Bend, OR may be required for work-related tasks
