Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Job Specifics and Requirements:
Area: Dallas, TX
Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing TX Pharmacy Technician License
Education: H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
Experience Needed: 1 year in a sterile environment
Pay: $22.00+
Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, health and drug screen
Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare sterile medications and compounds in a clean room environment
• Follow aseptic technique and maintain sterility throughout the preparation process
• Accurately measure, mix, and reconstitute medications according to prescribed formulas
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as laminar flow hoods and autoclaves
• Perform quality control checks and monitor environmental conditions in sterile areas
• Maintain detailed records of prepared medications and compounds
• Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure accuracy and safety of all preparations
• Adhere to all relevant regulations, including USP <797> guidelines
• Assist in inventory management of sterile supplies and medications
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with industry standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for sterile compounding processes
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding medication orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Assist in the training and mentoring of new sterile compounding personnel
