Sterile Compounding Pharmacist - Pharmacy Manager

Job Specifics and Requirements:

Area: Houston, TX

Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing TX Pharmacist License

Education: Pharm. D.

Experience Needed: 5 years+ 

Schedule: Mon - Fri: 9a-6pm - Possible Saturdays on a rotation

Pay: $60 - $65+ DOE

Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, health and drug screen

Sterile Compounding Pharmacist - Pharmacy Manager 

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the sterile compounding pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with USP <797> and <800> standards

• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for sterile compounding practices

• Supervise and train pharmacy staff in proper aseptic technique and sterile compounding procedures

• Perform quality assurance checks on compounded sterile preparations

• Manage inventory of sterile compounding supplies and equipment

• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all compounded medications

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop customized medication formulations

• Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in sterile compounding

• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives

• Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations

• Manage scheduling and staffing for the sterile compounding department

• Oversee facility maintenance and environmental monitoring

• Liaise with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits

• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers

• Manage budgeting and financial aspects of the sterile compounding department

• Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations

• Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings as needed

• Provide clinical expertise and consultation on sterile compounding matters

• Implement and maintain a comprehensive risk management program

• Oversee the validation and calibration of compounding equipment
