Job Scope
The SHE Specialist position will have overall responsibility for assuring that Glenwood meets Ecolab, OSHA, and other applicable SHE regulatory requirements. In addition, this position leads Glenwood’s Capital Expenditure program for production equipment and infrastructure improvements, and leads efforts to maintain the equipment, infrastructure, and building/grounds. This position is a key member of the plant leadership team which works closely with other management personnel throughout the organization to ensure a safe and effective manufacturing operation. Supports various TPM pillars as applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Ecolab, OSHA, and regulatory environmental, health and safety requirements, interfacing with the Glenwood leadership team as needed to drive safety improvements.
- Work in conjunction with the Plant Manager to develop and implement the annual SHE plan and policy review.
- Provide monthly all-employee safety training and hold stand-down meetings as needed to address critical situations.
- Conduct new employee, visitor, and contractor safety orientation.
- Lead the SH&E TPM pillar.
- Distribute and track the Quarterly team safety audits.
- Assure waste and other regulatory permit requirements are met.
- Lead the Glenwood CapEx program, using ETQ for relevant documentation.
- Work with 3rd party contractors for CapEx, infrastructure and building/grounds repairs and improvements.
- Assure hazardous waste and eWaste are disposed of properly.
- Maintain KPI and other online/SharePoint files for monthly safety metrics.
- Hold annual emergency evacuation and other safety drills.
- Lead annual program to provide associates with safety glasses, steel toed shoes, and other necessary PPE.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a safety/environmental, technical, or business field
- At least 5 years of SHE-related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Computer skills (examples: Microsoft Office products, Internet/e-mail, etc.)
- Familiarity with production and chemical environments
- Able to work in a shop environment (dust, noise, odors)
Annual Or Hourly Compensation Range
The pay range for this position is $98,600.00 - $148,000.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
