Meet The Team

Dexcom is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our team based in San Diego, CA. As a Staff Process Engineer, you will analyze and optimize global, and site Facilities processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This includes process designing, troubleshooting, process optimization, process analysis, process documentation, quality control, project management, process automation and quality assurance. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, facilitate process mapping activities, implement process improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of our organization.

Where You Come In

Define and Document Processes

  • Global and site Facilities processes with a priority of compliance with, Quality (Commissioning Qualification and Validation), safety and external authority requirements.
  • Engage with global leaders and work with them to define and document key business processes including roles and responsibilities, processes, methods of engagement, record management, etc. for teams such as Project Management, Facilities Maintenance and Operations, site Security, Space Planning, Real Estate and Facilities Engineering
  • Where processes are lacking or missing, work with the appropriate internal organizations to define requirements, document them and train personnel on the new processes.

Optimize Processes

  • Work with process owners to optimize processes for effectiveness, cost and time efficiency and reduced complexity
  • Ensure connectedness between applicable processes and personnel with clear communication channels and accountabilities.

Vendor Management

  • Where processes require interaction with and use of vendors, ensure that Dexcom needs are met, by clearly defining vendor expectations, responsibilities and deliverables through documented Standards, Procedures and other instructions.
  • Review RFP and design specification documents to ensure clear delineation of responsibilities and definition of all deliverables.
  • Ensure on-going vendor compliance with required deliverables, through a documented process and with the involvement of all stakeholders.

Provide Process Engineering expertise

  • Consult with project teams to provide process optimization consulting for the design and layout of Facilities, equipment and utilities.

What Makes You Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial or similar).
  • 5+ years of experience as a process engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies and statistical analysis.
  • Proficient in process analysis, process modelling, statistical analysis and simulation software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
  • Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience as a process engineer in a Facilities engineering environment
  • Experience with process improvement tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Master’s degree in process engineering or a related field.
  • Professional certification in process engineering or related areas.
  • Solid understanding of quality management systems, such as ISO standards and FDA CFR’s.
  • Knowledge of building automation and control systems.
  • Knowledge of Facility and utility systems and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Knowledge of ISO-41001 desired.
  • Certified Facilities Manager certification preferred.

Experience And Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience. At this level a graduate degree may be desirable with 4 years of related experience.

Travel Required

  • 5-15%
