What You Get To Do

The Mechanical Installation Supervisor is capable of leading and advising large teams during the complex installations, upgrades, and repairs of material handling systems. The Mechanical Installation Supervisor must have an excellent background in Mechanical installations, advanced leadership skills, and the ability to deliver high quality work safely and on time.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Installation of Material Handling Systems
  • Installation of safety devices
  • Responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical systems, based on engineered drawings and layouts
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate industry regional standards of installation and safety equipment guidelines
  • Comply with all relevant safety standards
  • Manage and maintain tools and equipment
  • Ensure installation meets established processes, guidelines, regulations, and quality standards
  • Complete assigned tasks within the scheduled time and as assigned by direct supervisor
  • Provision of direction, training, support and feedback to team
  • Support of commissioning and testing
  • Responsible for provision of daily and weekly reports to stake holders
  • Train and guide contractor on Knapp’s standards
  • Lead and instruct teams to complete work in scope, schedule and quality
  • Maintain accurate records of work
  • Ensure high quality and timely handovers to commissioning
  • Monitor and develop installation performance and quality
  • Coordination of Installation resources on site
  • Following change and claim management processes
  • Organize and coordinate site logistics

What You Have

  • 4+ years of practical experience and knowledge in mechanical installations or maintenance within automation industry
  • 2+ years' experience in on-site management or supervision within a relevant industry
  • Strong resource management based on changing priorities and assignments
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineered drawings and schematics
  • Excellent Leadership and communication skills
  • Advanced organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows-like interface
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of KNAPP procedures and processes

Working Conditions and Environment:

  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Passport or ability to obtain passport
  • Professional office etiquette is required at all times
  • Travel required 100%
  • Overtime as required by work
  • Physical requirements: sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm’s length, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
