The Datacenter Engineer, as part of the Datacenter Management team, manages the day-to-day operations, continuous improvement, and strategic development for Swisslog Healthcare’s global Datacenter Services used by :1400 employees in :30 locations worldwide.
This includes Infrastructure (Datacenters, Azure, Servers, Virtualization, storage, backup, databases), Workplace (Software packaging, patching, and distribution and Group Policies), Network (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Firewall), and Security (Client protection, server protection, security monitoring).
The Datacenter Engineer performs requirement analysis, project planning/coordination, 2nd Level support, installing, patching and configuring software, troubleshooting, training users, problem management, and software maintenance.
Your collaboration
- Operate, support and continuously improve the datacenter services consisting of:
- Physical and virtual servers (Windows servers and VMWare, etc.)
- Storage and backup solutions (VEEAM, etc.)
- Owned and outsourced Datacenter environments
- Azure and M365 Tenant and associated resources (MS Azure, M365)
- Directory Services, Group Policies (Active Directory, InTune)
- Software packaging and distribution (Baramundi)
- Security Solutions (MS Defender, Varonis, etc.)
- Provisioning, document, automate, patch, upgrade and decommission assets as required to maintain the above services
- Monitor systems and services availability, performance, and capacities
- Manage license, contracts, and vendors to maintain services
- Work with Business users at all levels to provide training, gather new requirements, manage acceptance tests, and/or troubleshooting issues.
- Review new technologies, products, and trends to maintain state-of-the-art services.
- Manage, execute, or support IT Projects and work with other departments as required.
- Ensure IT security, data privacy, and support audits/certifications (HiTrust, ISO27001)
- Define, follow, and enforce department and corporate operating policies/procedures.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Your competence
- Minimum 3 years experience operating datacenter services
Knowledge & Experience
- Working knowledge of Azure datacenter resources and configurations
- Experience with Server and VMware installation, support, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of MS directory services, InTune, and Group Policy Objects
- Working knowledge of Software packaging and distribution
- Experience with PowerShell scripting
- Willingness to work in all areas of IT as needed
- Experience working in a global IT team and can work off hours as needed
- Comfortable in a co-location environment (power, cabling, cooling, etc.)
- Willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends if required

Work Conditions
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends if required
- Must be willing to be on call 1 week per month.
- Lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
- Must be willing to travel occasionally.
Salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical / dental / vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, disability, 401k matching (up to 8%).
