Your Role :
The VP- IT Transformation serves as a strategic leader within the function and for the enterprise, facilitating robust IT strategy development, planning, and execution including oversight for enterprise digital strategy, IT operating model transformation, enterprise transformation, innovation management/Enterprise Architecture, enterprise change management, IT performance management, IT budget and financial Management, IT marketing and communications, IT workforce management, IT talent development, IT governance standards, tools & practices, IT vendor Management, IT program/project/product management.
What you'll be doing
Portfolio Planning & Governance
Works with Segment / Business teams / Functional teams, and Strategy execution Office to develop a rolling 3-5 year IT Strategy with a list of initiatives, investment and business case Establishes, operates, and improves the program/project/product demand and execution management office yielding predictable value delivery for the enterprise, distinguishing projects between Enterprise level (impacts all or multiple Segments / Functions) and Local Unique Facilitates the annual IT functional budgeting and portfolio funding process including variance analysis and mitigation planning Leads all aspects of Program and Change Management for Enterprise level projects Tracks and reports on KPIs around IT portfolio (budget, actuals vs. estimate, time, business case results, etc.)
Digital Strategy
Works with Segment / Business teams to evaluate existing business processes and identifies ways in which technology can improve efficiency and effectiveness Works with Segment / Business teams to brainstorm how technology and data can be leveraged to enhance or build new products and services that drive revenue and/or greater customer satisfaction Finds opportunities to greater leverage existing technical assets and data to drive improvement in the organization Works with Enterprise Architecture on identifying where existing assets can be leveraged further and where new solutions are needed Works with Enterprise Architecture to define technology standards Works with HR to define training and change management strategies for ensuring technical solutions are well known and properly leveraged
Innovation
Facilitates discussions with Segment / Business teams on the “art of the possible”, leveraging existing IT suppliers and identifying potential future partners Leads programs that encourage innovation at grass root levels in a structured/governed manner Fosters results of innovation programs into the Digital and IT Strategy Leads the pilot of new technologies and defines the stance of the organization on each through the oversight of the enterprise architecture governance team and process
IT Service Delivery Model
Develops and tracks the set of KPIs that measures the value and performance of IT Facilitates the development of core IT operating processes including program, project, product, service delivery/support methods Serves as a marketing / communication function for IT for staff and internal customers Works with CIO, Segment, Functional, and Shared Service Leaders on appropriate staffing based on the IT Strategy. Recommends internal staff levels based on the annual portfolio Facilitates effective management of 3rd party suppliers and contractors via the vendor management office Works with Segment, Functional, and Shared Service Leaders and HR on identifying development and training plans, creating a culture of quality, agility and high performance that will foster the attraction, development and retention of outstanding technical talent
What will you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Computer Science or related technical field; an MBA or advance degree preferred
- 15+ years in IT leadership roles with a successful track record of leading large transformations, developing and leading IT work force in a highly matrixed environment with global (On-shore, Off-shore, Near-shore) delivery models. Deep Technical depth with an Engineering and product innovation approach
- Demonstrable ability to provide technical leadership with business context and exposure across a broad scale of IT experience in tools, technologies, and architecture models with ability to drive strategy, and also roll-up the sleeves and switch to fair amount of detail/execution as needed
- Experience leading teams with experience in design thinking, UI/UX, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Java, .NET, AWS (and one other cloud platform preferred)
- Experience leading Agile teams (scrum preferred) and programs at scale
- Reliably build and deliver services utilizing DevOps practices
- Strong, proactive leadership and high influencing capabilities – inspiring fellowship and keen interest in developing strong next level leaders with clear lines of accountability
- Optimally Influence, negotiate and lead technology alternative evaluations and implementations within both Business and IT
- Effectively manages tradeoffs between speed to market, quality and any potential financial impacts
- Ability to comfortably and credibly present to senior management. Be able to articulate the value proposition of getting solutions built using sound architecture principles
- Excellent written, verbal skills, and critical thinking skills with strong executive presence

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $296,000-407,000 USD annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
