Job Summary
The Sr. System Engineer will work closely with production and engineering to design, supply, validate and maintain software, data, and systems that comply with West Pharmaceutical Services needs and policies. This position shall report directly to the Engineering Manager.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Utilize Project Management Skills to schedule projects and establish timelines.
- Design new equipment and systems as required to maintain, improve or develop new processes.
- Work closely with Maintenance, Engineers and Vendors to create, install and/or validate new systems.
- Write and or approve all necessary documentation to design, purchase and install new and upgraded equipment and systems. Such documents as: Request for quotes, factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests and validation protocols.
- Assist Jersey Shore engineering and maintenance while trouble shooting existing equipment.
- Assist Corporate and other facilities with upgrading and troubleshooting complex electronic problems.
- Keep current on the latest technology.
- Interact with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) through software to capture, upload or download process parameters and data
- Purchase and maintain current software necessary to maintain new and existing equipment within the facility.
- Work as a team member to accomplish plant and corporate goals while fostering global harmonization.
- Represent the Jersey Shore plant in technical discussions.
- Work with Corporate teams to comprise, install, and validate enterprise wide systems
- Train team members on the use of system software
- All other duties as required
Education
- Four (4) year Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Degree AND / OR
- Five (5) years programming experience with extensive electrical engineering work.
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years 5-8 years of experience required and
- 2+ years of managerial or supervisory experience in manufacturing environment required and
- Strong automation background and experience with CAD and SAP systems a plus. preferred
Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
- Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
- Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
- Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times .
Travel Requirements
10%: Up to 26 business days per year
Physical Requirements
Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
