Title: Packaging Engineer

Position Overview: Packaging Engineer
Purpose
The Packaging Engineer will perform entry-level technical tasks to develop new or enhance existing products, processes, prototypes, fixtures, and tools, aligning with the company’s strategic goals. The role involves applying engineering and scientific principles to address and resolve technical challenges under the supervision of a technical lead or manager. The position also supports continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Utilize foundational engineering principles to conduct experiments, statistical analyses, and investigations, contributing to designs that align with business objectives.
- Apply multidisciplinary engineering knowledge to design and develop innovative medical devices or components/subsystems.
- Create and revise technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Assist in the execution of test methods and development of simulation models to mitigate design risks and ensure reliability.
- Stay current with technical advancements and continually enhance skills.
- Participate in prototyping, product design, and development of tools and fixtures for research or development purposes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to acquire and test prototype parts, ensuring designs meet established requirements.
- Perform empirical and experimental analyses to evaluate designs and address potential issues.
- Contribute to technical design reviews and engineering change documentation.
- Manage assigned engineering tasks within established timelines, ensuring efficient completion and supporting continuous improvement.
- Communicate and interpret engineering designs, drawings, and specifications with suppliers, stakeholders, and customers.
- Prepare and present technical presentations, supporting designs with clear and concise engineering arguments.
- Develop knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements for medical devices.
- Gain an understanding of the evolving clinical environment, including treatment methods and changing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Transportation: Must own a car (reliance on public transportation or ride shares is not feasible).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field (4-year degree required).
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in the packaging, molding, or materials industry.
- Experience with lab testing of package components.
