How This Role Impacts Live Oak And Its People
With no physical branches and customers in all 50 U.S. States and numerous territories, it is essential that Live Oak get its people to the customer and back again, entertain high profile clients, and provide for executive travel as efficiently and safely as possible. The Senior Aircraft Technician is responsible for conducting aircraft maintenance in a high-caliber, fast-paced corporate flight department that operates under Part 91 of the U.S. Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
What You’ll Do At Live Oak
- Ensure all maintenance performed on company owned/operated aircraft is in accordance with applicable FARs and the approved Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM).
- Ensure aircraft are always legally airworthy prior to dispatch.
- Complete or supervise the completion of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements of company owned/operated aircraft.
- Actively participate in the flight department’s non-punitive Safety Management System by submitting reports of observed hazards and actual incidents in order to mitigate the associated risks.
How You’ll Do It
- Attend initial and recurrent training on company aircraft, as required.
- Perform thorough post-flight inspections on each aircraft when they return to home base.
- Perform Scheduled Airframe and Powerplant inspections.
- Ensure airframe and engine logbooks are correctly completed, up to date, and in proper order.
- Input necessary data into maintenance tracking software and ensures its accuracy.
- Utilize maintenance tracking software and in-house processes to forecast, track, and document all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance performed on the aircraft.
- Order and perform receiving inspection of all needed parts for the aircraft.
- Maintain and operate fuel farm and perform fueling of aircraft.
- Perform Line Service Duties
- Travel with aircraft as needed
- Hours worked is dictated by the flight schedule to include weekends and holidays.
Required And Preferred Experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must be trained and have the ability to maintain company owned/operated aircraft (type-specific training will be provided, if needed). Challenger 300, 350, or 3500 experience Highly preferred.
- Must have and maintain an FAA-issued Airframe and Powerplant certificate in good standing.
- Must be proficient in aviation-related software and Microsoft Office products.
- Must have a working knowledge of Part 43 of the FARs, maintenance requirements for Part 23- and Part 25- certified aircraft, and aviation maintenance best practices.
- Must have 10 years’ experience maintaining aircraft that correspond to the needs of the bank and at least five years working in a corporate aviation or similar self-directed environment.
- Must relocate to the Wilmington NC area.
- Previous experience fulfilling the role of Senior Aircraft Technician or equivalent is preferred.
- Associates of Science or Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Maintenance preferred.

The base pay range for this position is $38.46 - $62.50 per hour. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.
