As a Quality Assurance Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring that packaging operations comply with approved procedures, regulatory guidelines, and customer expectations. Your role will involve reviewing documentation, monitoring environmental conditions, and supporting quality-related programs to uphold the highest standards of product integrity and compliance.
More About Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Client Relations team to review and approve Master Packaging Work Orders, ensuring compliance with packaging instructions, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Perform final batch record release by auditing executed packaging work orders, confirming adherence to SOPs and customer expectations, verifying documentation accuracy and escalating any non-conformances.
- Own the Environmental Monitoring (EM) program by generating reports, assessing trends, and recommending improvements to cleaning procedures.
- Monitor and coordinate the instrument calibration program, ensuring timely calibrations and addressing any out-of-calibration instruments.
- Lead in investigation and documentation of non-conformances (deviations), and discrepancies and provide informed quality decisions.
- Assist with validation batches by providing training within team and Operations and reviewing pre-approved and executed protocols.
- Manage change processes by initiating, reviewing, and approving changes to SOPs and systems in support of improvements and regulatory commitments.
- Conduct annual retain inspections to assess product integrity throughout shelf life, escalating any issues for resolution.
- Assist in training new hires, providing guidance on quality processes and compliance requirements.
- Review facility temperature and humidity reports to ensure environmental conditions remain within specified ranges and take action when necessary.
- Prepare or support annual trend reports for deviations, complaints, and product reviews to identify patterns and recommend corrective actions.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and health and safety legislation while performing job duties.
- Take on special projects and assignments as directed by the Vice President, Quality and Regulatory Affairs and/or Manager, QA.
What You’ll Bring

- B.Sc in Science or a related discipline, or
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or packaging environment, with a preference for Quality Control experience.
- Solid understanding of inspection procedures and quality assurance processes.
- Experience with supporting regulatory (FDA and Health Canada) audit is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with quality standards and documentation practices.
- Strong problem solving/resolution skills.
- Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills to manage documentation and quality systems, and deadlines efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively within and across teams and departments.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Team’s to manage and document quality records effectively.
