Scientist II R&D, CSD, IVD Development
We are seeking a dedicated and outstanding Scientist II to join our R&D team in Carlsbad. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation sequencing assays for clinical laboratories. In this role, you will be part of a diverse technology team, ensuring accurate operation of sample preparation, instrument calibration and operation, and data analysis. With a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related team, and substantial hands-on laboratory experience, you will play a crucial role in our ambitious projects.
Duties
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop next-generation sequencing assays for clinical use.
Prepare samples, operate instruments, analyze data, and write study protocols and reports.
Eligible candidates will contribute to
Next-generation sequencing applying Ion Torrent Technology.
Developing diagnostic assays that align with regulatory standards.
Crafting testing protocols and compiling project reports.
Product verification and validation processes.
Minimum Qualifications (must Have)
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology or similar field with 2+ years of industry/academic experience; Master’s degree with limited experience, or equivalent work experience.
Proven skills in molecular biology (including DNA, RNA, and protein handling, PCR, qPCR, quantification methods).
Knowledge of sequencing and molecular amplification methods.
Experience with next-generation sequencing, preferably with Ion Torrent Technologies.
Proficiency in basic data analysis and Microsoft Office.
Basic knowledge of genomics.
Ability to strictly follow molecular biology protocols.
Comfort working in a large, collaborative, and busy laboratory environment.
Preferred Qualifications (nice To Have)
Experience in a clinical or core laboratory facility.
Familiarity with design control documentation.
Compensation And Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $73,000.00–$95,000.00.
