Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and creative
Elementary Art Teacher to join our team in Allendale, SC. This full-time position will be responsible for teaching elementary-aged students and fostering an appreciation for the arts. The position is available immediately and will continue through the end of the school year.
As the Elementary Art Teacher, you will work with a diverse group of students, providing engaging lessons in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and other visual arts. You will create a dynamic and supportive classroom environment that encourages students to explore their creativity and develop new skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement art curriculum for elementary students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Teach art techniques and concepts in a hands-on, interactive manner.
- Integrate art history, appreciation, and cultural relevance into lessons.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback on their artistic development.
- Collaborate with other staff members to integrate art into the broader school community.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field.
- Certification: Valid South Carolina teaching license for Art Education (or eligibility for licensure).
- Experience working with elementary students, particularly in an art education setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of various learning levels.
- Creative, enthusiastic, and passionate about the arts and education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching elementary art.
- Knowledge of various art techniques, including but not limited to drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital arts.
- Familiarity with South Carolina state standards for art education.
