What The Category Manager – Indirect Procurement Does Each Day
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned indirect categories
- Lead competitive bidding, supplier negotiations, and contract execution
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements
- Benchmark industry trends and apply best practices in procurement
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and ensure service-level compliance
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize cost, service, and risk
- Address supplier issues and develop corrective action plans as needed
- Partner with internal stakeholders (Facilities, IT, Finance, Operations) to align procurement strategies with business needs
- Communicate category plans and supplier performance insights to leadership
- Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless implementation of procurement initiatives
- Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies and industry regulations
- Mitigate supplier risks through robust contract terms and due diligence
- Monitor and manage supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans

Minimum Requirements For This Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, preferably in indirect spend (maintenance, IT, site services, consulting)
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor, or similar) and procurement tools
- Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities
- Knowledge of contract management, supplier negotiation, and procurement best practices
- Procurement certifications such as CPM, CPSM, or CIPS
- Experience managing global supplier relationships
- Knowledge of compliance requirements related to pharma, healthcare, or regulated industries
- Efficiency with MS Office suite
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; QuVa will not sponsor applicants for work visas
