The Role

As a Principal Technical Product Manager in Data Platform, you will lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of a scalable and interoperable data platform supporting Moderna’s product development initiatives. You will drive technical leadership and ensure seamless data integration across core components, including Data Lakes, Metadata Management, AI Services, and Access Control.

Here's What You’ll Do

  • Define and implement the technical strategy and architecture for data platform capabilities.
  • Oversee the end-to-end development of data engineering pipelines, access control frameworks, and API integrations.
  • Partner with engineering and AI teams to drive automation in clinical and regulatory workflows.
  • Implement best-in-class security, governance, and metadata management.
  • Foster an Agile, DevOps-driven culture for cloud-native solutions.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • 7+ years of experience in cloud-based data platforms, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, microservices, IAM, and AI-driven data pipelines.
  • Strong background in clinical data management, metadata governance, and AI integrations.

Here’s What You’ll Bring To The Table

  • Strong hands-on engineering experience either as an individual contributor and/or leading an engineering team, prior to transition to product role.
  • Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams and driving innovation in life sciences data platforms.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams and create a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Strong ability to translate complex clinical and operational needs into data-driven product solutions.
  • Familiarity with product management methodologies, such as Agile, Lean and/or design thinking, and proficiency in product management tools and software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, and influence outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience leading operational excellence and lean programs in a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Passion for innovation, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement in product management practices.
