The Role
McKesson is seeking an experienced Board Coordinator to serve a critical role in providing administrative and project management support for the Board of Directors of McKesson Corporation. This role involves delivering exceptional service to our Board and senior executives coordinating the planning, execution, and follow-up for all Board and committee meetings.
The Board Coordinator will report to the Corporate Secretary & Assistant General Counsel and work closely with members of the Corporate Secretary team as well as other members of the Corporate, Governance and Transactions team within McKesson’s General Counsel Organization. The ideal candidate will possess excellent judgment, communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead coordination of Board meeting planning, execution, and follow-up for corporate secretarial team, and maintain trackers for Board-related workstreams.
- Schedule Board meetings, coordinating availability of directors, executive officers, and outside advisors as needed.
- Act as liaison and primary contact for directors’ inquiries regarding meeting scheduling, travel and other logistics, meeting materials, compensation and expense reimbursement, Board portal usage, director onboarding, and other matters.
- Coordinate with event planning and security teams for meeting logistics, technology, catering, transportation, and other requirements, and lead onsite support team at meetings and Board functions.
- Administer third-party electronic Board portal (Boardvantage), managing distributions and other communications to the Board and others, including meeting materials and other information.
- Arrange for collection of director signatures on documents when needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Board of Directors meeting planning or executive administration at an NYSE or Nasdaq-listed Fortune 500 company.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Critical Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in interactions with executives, directors, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
- Efficiency in working both independently and collaboratively, with a proven record of building strong working relationships in a matrixed enterprise environment.
- Excellent technology skills with administrator experience in board portal software (preferably Boardvantage).
- High level facilitation, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.
- Excellent judgment in identifying, synthesizing, and raising issues to leaders for resolution.
- Ability to handle multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable with need for heightened discretion and confidentiality.
Travel Requirement
Quarterly travel may be required
