The overall responsibility of this position is to oversee the day to day concerns of our Customers and assist them with Parts Orders.
Responsibilities
- Take orders from customers for parts purchases via phone, fax, email and Parts24.
- Assist customers in machine parts search using LIDOS and Parts manuals as needed.
- Check stock and advise customers what is on hand and what could be substituted.
- Suggest certain spare parts (filters, gaskets, seal kits, etc.).
- Key order into Baan system.
- Verify customer and order information for correctness, checking it against previously obtained information as necessary.
- Process credit card orders from retail customers.
- Prepare purchase orders and sales orders in the computer system as necessary for order processing.
- Advise customers on substitutions or replacements of parts.
- Track backorder shipments and advise customers of arrival time and stay in contact with the customers and our European sister company in regard to backorders.
- Release Backorders.
- Communicate with remote warehouse at LCA if part not in stock at LWE.
- Establish purchase order to LCA.
- Listen to and resolve customer complaints.
Competencies
- Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent education with a minimum of one year of experience in a parts environment.
- Demonstrated initiative to visualize, organize, manage, and complete projects in individual and group settings.
- Ability to interface with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
- Knowledge of software and systems related to parts operations activities; timekeeping systems; project management software; spreadsheet software; and word processing software.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time.
- Ability to be on 24 hour on-call for emergency machine down situations to order spare parts on a rotating basis.
- Ability to work overtime, as well as on weekends.
