Job Summary
The Senior Director for Global Sales & Business Development will play a critical role in driving global sales and business development strategy for our cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. This leadership role will manage a team that includes Business Development/Key Account Managers (KAM), Sales, and Field Application Specialists. The position will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive global sales and business development strategy, fostering key customer relationships, and ensuring alignment within regional sales and KAM teams to maximize growth and market penetration.
As a leader of this global function, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Product Management, to identify and capitalize on business opportunities, drive revenue growth, and expand the company’s footprint in the rapidly evolving CGT space. This will also be pivotal in managing strategic accounts (including big pharma and biotech), building partnerships, and negotiating high-value contracts.
Salary Range: $223,700 - $238,800 per year.
Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 22% of the base salary. Position is also eligible to participate in our medium-term incentive plan. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a global sales and business development strategy for CGT technologies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market dynamics
- Define and lead the execution of revenue targets, sales forecasting, and business development goals across all regions
- Establish clear Sales and BD goals for regional teams and track performance against these objectives, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy
- Develop and manage strategic sales plans for key global accounts, new market opportunities, and partnerships, ensuring the successful commercialization of CGT products
- Provide ongoing support to the sales and BD teams, including assisting with complex deals, pricing strategy, and sales presentations
- Ensure the development and delivery of high-quality technical presentations, product demonstrations, and other sales enablement materials tailored to both scientific and business audiences
- Lead the creation of global sales forecasts for 3-year budgeting and regular yearly forecasting cycle, providing regular updates on sales performance, pipeline status, and key business development activities
- Track sales performance by region, segment, and product line to ensure that global revenue targets are being met
- Provide detailed reports to senior leadership on business development activities, market opportunities, and strategic account progress
- Lead and mentor a diverse global team of Business Development Managers, Key Account Managers, Sales Managers, and Field Application Specialists to drive performance, skill development, and career growth
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and ensure that team members are equipped with the resources and training necessary to meet objectives
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key strategic customers, KOLs, and industry influencers to grow the customer base and expand business opportunities
- Manage high-value accounts and strategic partnerships, ensuring long-term business relationships and high customer satisfaction
- Lead negotiations and the closing of complex sales agreements, partnerships, and licensing opportunities with key global accounts and partners
As part of Top Management, you have the overall responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, including the following:

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Science, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in sales and business development, with a minimum of 7 years in leadership roles within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical devices industries
- 5+ years of experience directly working in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with deep understanding of cell therapy industry, market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape
- Strong experience managing a global team, with an understanding of cultural and operational differences across regions.
- Experience negotiating and closing complex, high-value deals, and managing key accounts and strategic partnerships
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with demonstrated ability to inspire and drive performance across a global, cross-functional team
- Strong business acumen, with ability to translate market insights into actional sales and BD strategies
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM, sales forecasting, and business analytics.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel up to 40% with willingness to travel internationally.
