The Infusion Pharmacy Manager is a licensed professional responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to home infusion patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of AIC, current pharmacy practice professional standards, and other regulatory entities.
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy; Master’s or PharmD preferred from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Current, unrestricted clinical license
- Required licensure as a Pharmacist as granted by the Board of Pharmacy
- Current pharmacist licensure in good standing in the state of practice
- Infusion Therapy experience strongly preferred with experience compounding sterile products and managing patient care
- Experience in direct or indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other team members
- Qualifications to perform clinical oversight for services provided
- At least 1 year of post-graduate experience in patient care
- 3+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a health care setting
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides guidance for clinical operational aspects of program.
- Provides oversight of clinical decision making aspects of program.
- Provides periodic consultation with practitioners in the field.
- Ensures organizational objective is to have qualified clinicians accountable to the organization for decisions affecting consumers.
- Oversees day to day management of the pharmacy department to ensure that quality products and services are provided to infusion therapy patients.
- Directs pharmacy inventory management, prescription compounding, dispensing processes, and supply management and delivery processes.
- Supervises direct reports including interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Directs and coordinates pharmacy in-service programs and ensures ongoing communication among care staff members.
- Monitors patient satisfaction and identify areas for on-going improvement.
- Takes on-call responsibility, as assigned, to provide 24-hour availability.
- Communicates with patients and medical staff, providing clinical expertise.
- Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; respects patient’s rights to privacy and confidentiality.
- Perform other job related duties as required.
Qualification Requirements
- Hands-on, "working" manager with solid understanding of infusion therapies, operations of home care pharmacy and strong clinical leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
- Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
