Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Reconciliation Specialist to join our medical billing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing payment data, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement processes, and improving overall financial performance for assigned customers. You must possess analytic skills, enjoy details, be experienced working in excel, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare billing procedures, insurance policies, and payment reconciliation.
You may be hired as a Reconciliation Specialist or a Sr. Reconciliation Specialist based on your depth of skill and breadth of experience.
What will you do?
- Develop standard operating procedures and participate in training
- Follow up/Initiate payor ERA/EFT enrollment
- Participate in payment posting audits
- Maintain high level of productivity through speed and accuracy
- Posting insurance, patient, and client payments as needed
- Review and analyze payment reports, identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement in the billing process
- Perform monthly reconciliation of payments received against billed amounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed
- Generate and present regular reports on payment performance, trends, and key metrics to management.
- Provide training and support to billing staff on payment-related issues and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the efficiency of billing operations
This is an onsite position at our office in Charleston, SC.
What education and experience do you need?
A combination of the following education and experience factors will be considered:
- Highschool diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Relevant experience/knowledge in medical billing, payment analysis, or healthcare finance
- Strong research and analytical skills
- High level of organizational, time management and customer service skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners

What does the position pay:
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location.
The expected range for this role is $20.00-$23.00 hourly compensation. Please note this range is an estimate and actual may vary based on qualifications and experience.
