As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 3-5+ years of software engineering or related experience.

We build SDKs, client tools, and IDE plugins for new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our mission is to give our customers best-in-class SDKs / client tools / IDE plugins to build and manage their cloud infrastructure. We’re looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in building APIs, plugins, and tools to support Java, Python, Go, TypeScript / JavaScript, Ruby, .NET / C#, and PowerShell programming languages, infrastructure-as-code software such as Crossplane, as well as Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, IntelliJ, and other development environments. There is a significant scope to develop your breadth and depth of skills in this role.
As a Senior Member of Technical Staff you will own and lead software architecture and development for components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be comfortable with multiple programming languages, SDKs, and development environments, be able to architect broad systems interactions, be hands-on, be able to dive deep into any part of the stack, and have a sense for what makes for a great developer experience. You should value simplicity and impact, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience with software development
- Proficient at programming in Java, and at least one other major programming / scripting language
- Distributed systems fundamentals
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related engineering field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience using, and ideally developing, code generation software
- Experience using IaaS and PaaS cloud services offered by a major cloud services provider
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related engineering field

US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 - $178,200 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
