The
Java Management Service (JMS) Team is looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated
Director of Software Development to lead the development and operation of our cloud-based service. JMS is a critical platform for managing Java workloads in the cloud, supporting developers and enterprises globally.
We are seeking a seasoned leader with deep expertise in cloud service architecture, software development, and operational excellence. This is a unique opportunity to join a world-class team and drive innovation in a key cloud service. You will be responsible for managing the development, delivery, adoption operations of features for JMS, ensuring its scalability, reliability, resilience, security, and performance.
As a leader, you will oversee all aspects of cloud service development and operation, from feature delivery to performance optimization, cost management, system monitoring, and customer support. Your role will include fostering innovation while maintaining high standards of operational excellence.

As a manager, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of software development processes to lead tasks associated with developing, debugging, and designing cloud-based software solutions. Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Cloud Service Development and Operations:
Lead the design, development, and operation of the Java Management Service (JMS), ensuring it meets high standards of scalability, reliability, resilience, security, and performance for managing Java workloads in the cloud based on the standards set by Oracle.
Feature Development:
Oversee the delivery of innovative features that address the needs of enterprise customers and developers, enhancing the functionality and usability of JMS within the timeframe and budget.
Operational Excellence:
Implement best practices in cloud service operations, including system monitoring, performance optimization, incident management, and customer support to maintain high service availability.
Collaboration Across Teams:
Work closely with other engineering, product, services and customer success teams to create integrated solutions that provide a comprehensive experience for enterprise customers running Java and developers using Java in the cloud.
Customer-Centric Approach:
Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and incorporate insights into the product roadmap and operational improvements.
Innovation Leadership:
Drive forward-thinking solutions, leveraging modern cloud technologies to ensure JMS remains a cutting-edge platform in the cloud service space.
Team Leadership and Development:
Build and nurture a diverse, high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, equity, and inclusion. Mentor team members to achieve their potential and align their efforts with organizational goals.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-term plans to ensure the success and continuous improvement of JMS as a key offering in Oracle Cloud.
Cross-Functional Interaction:
Regularly interact with senior management and executives to align team objectives with broader organizational strategies and to communicate progress and challenges.
Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate and refine development processes and architectural decisions to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $122,500 - $291,800 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

- Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
